Sara Chandran

Sara Chandran is an Inclusion Consultant and Communications Specialist. After graduating from the University of Reading, Sara campaigned to be elected as the Education Officer at Reading University Student’s Union. During this time, Sara proactively identified the academic Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic attainment gap and developed the first-ever conference of its kind to address the issue. The event hosted speakers from around the UK to speak on race in education, securing over 100 attendees including students and senior academic staff.

Following this, Sara worked at the award-winning B2B tech communications consultancy, Chameleon, consulting brands such as Hootsuite, Optimizely and DocuSign. Sara decided to bring her passion for diversity and inclusion to the agency and introduced initiatives to change internal processes to create a more diverse recruitment policy. Sara was also responsible for leading and delivering workshops and training around topics of unconscious bias, microaggressions and allyship.

Sara then joined the award-winning inclusive marketing agency, The Unmistakables, to help organisations unleash mutual opportunities – or difference dividend – from the ‘minority mindset’. With clients from The English Cricket Board, OpenReach to TechNation, Sara consulted these organisations on their internal inclusion policies and their external marketing campaigns ensuring they spoke to diverse audiences.
